My word it's quiet!
« on: January 15, 2010, 09:54:00 AM »
The last few days have been particularly quiet as far as messages go...... I can only assume everyone in the UK has gone skiing, and the Aussies/Kiwis are away on there summer holidays - Dunno about the rest?

Apart from the normal batch of members that are only here to grab files and never give anything back in return......  Sometimes I wonder if it's all worthwhile? :(

Should we just pull the plug and call it a day and close down Paddleducks? Okay, that's slightly tongue in cheek, but I really do wonder if we should bother sometimes?

Hi Eddy and all PD's

I have been offline for awhile for health reasons and have started putting a few posts up in the last few days. :P

The Glasgow will restart in the next few days and i have downloaded a couple of files looking for a new project.
I would like to say that this is one of the friendliest and relaxed forums i know and it would be a tragedy if it were to slowly wither, due to lack of use.  though all forums go through quiet spells.
dont get too downharted you have and continue to do an fantastic job in promoting the site and paddlers.

 :clap :yeahbaby

Hi Eddy,
You know over the Christmas break, I must be the only person left in the city of Hamilton. Everyone has gone to the beach for the last 3 weeks.
Just as well Paddleducks was here, or i'd get lonely.
Even though I visit everyday (sometimes twice a day), I only drop a line or two when I have something to say. Doesn't mean I'm not interested, far from it. I only regularly visit two forums, both boating and both cater for each of my interests. So a heart felt plea from the bottom of the world (and thats open to debate, which is really the top or no), to don't get downhearted, we all still here, some simply on holiday briefly.
And as the man was known to say, "they'll be back".
cheers

8)Holiday time Eddy. Thinking of you all in the U K (briefly anyway) during the balmy evening after yet another 24 degree day. Plenty else to do, we have an open pit gold mine right next to the main street of town and this Sunday is an open day when the public gets to explore the mine, do a bit of fossicking and look at displays put up by community groups like the Museum which I am a committee member for. Always make time to drop in and see what is new, just dont always have something worthwile (or silly for that matter) to say. I am sure it will thaw out soon. Cheers, Ian.

Hi Eddy,
I think for most of us in the Northern Hemisphere we hit winter doldrums about this time of the year. Its too cold to work in the shop, and the general low light level is depressing not to mention all the Xmas bills that are now coming in. I generally check this forum first think after my emails and would miss it greatly.
Regards,
Gerald.

Another thought!  If Paddleducks went I would have to find someone to show me how to take it off the top of my favourites  ::)

That's two posts in as many minutes SO WHO SAYS IT'S QUIET!!!
Cheers from Bob Golder

I'm stopping by several times a day - no time to write, though, as I'm busily and stealthily trying to overtake Stuart with my "Connaught" build ;)

Cheers,

Oliver

Sorry Eddy - I've just finished painting 60 Preiser figures for my Arran which has held up my Waverley build for a while. Jings (insert appropriate alternative verb to the Sunday Post variety here if you wish) what a tedious job that was!! had to liven it up by painting a couple of comedy characters. I know of one 1930's turbine model which has Wonder Woman onboard if you know where to look!

Cheer up Eddy, the big freeze will soon be over.
I drop in daily for a read of the postings, sometimes late at night due to time constraints of having family in for the holiday season. Now back to empty nesters and hope to get my Pevensey under way soon as our weather cools a bit. Too frightened to start cutting yet as today's forecast is 38C (100.4F) and tomorrow expecting 41C (105.8F) for fear of wood catching alight in the bandsaw.

Cheers all for 2010.

I'm just hoping that the garage doors have survived the beating the wind is giving them just now!

Well I am on here every day, but seeing as I am not building a paddler :o :o (well to tell the truth I am not building anything but Foggys at the moment!!) I don't have much to say, but I find all the other posts a  'riveting' read!! ::) ::)

Keep up the good work on this friendly forum :bravo  :terrific

Hi Eddy,

when i was a child my mother told me, if you have nothing to say then be quiet, this is the reason why ther is no post from Switzerland so far ;)
When i read about the evils of drinking, I decide to give up reading
