My mind turned to the paddlesteamer in the 1950s film of Around the world in 80 days, which starred David Niven.
I knew that it wasn't Hatteras (which was a famous boat of the 1860s USA civil war).
I went to the Paddleducks search function, tried 'Around the world in 80 days', and up came three references.
It was fake paddlesteamer Henrietta: screw driven with dummy paddles.  I don't know if at least it was genuine steam, or that part was fake too.  As a film prop, who would care?  All credit to the director for achieving the effect.  If it were a cruise boat charging passenger fares, I would be concerned.

A member was making a model, based on stills from a dvd of the movie.

The ship used in Around the World in 80 Days was the Uragan    www.kvarner.hr/kultura/english/industrial.html  She is on display at Rijeka harbour (Croatia I think). I am sure the local museum/maritime museum would hold drawings as she was relatively recently restored.

Another star of the silver screen was P.S. EMPRESS belonging to Cosens of Weymouth. The 1945 film Great Expectations staring Sir John Mills. A 20 ft extention added to the funnel, paddle boxes enlarged to 13 ft high with a bridge deck spanning the space between. Clipper bow complete with figure head and fully rigged mast 70 ft and 85 ft. I have a poor picture but cant scan at the moment.R.G.Y.
