Hi Pd's......Crash93..[Peter].. this www.modellbau-niggel.de "Verdrangugsolver" @ EURO 28 seems amazing & the translation suggests that it is a displacement lubricator......the only difficuility in understanding is the porting........

The 400.110 appears to be of conventional construction.......however the 400.112 = bottom ported   :shoot

Another point is ...JMC market a Grassier transparent displacement lubricator to EURO 91.40 & EURO 122.00

I must acknowledge the balance of components @ www.modellbau-niggel.de appear excellent quality and a very reasonable costings

For EURO 28 it must be worth e-mailing them for confirmation of functionality......as the visual aspect of a glass pressure lubricator is great.....check out the opening page from JMC & view the three levels of OIL>>>>>OIL+water mix+ waste water........

:goodnews..... so please keep us posted

..following is a translation from www.modellbau-niggel.de

Winfried - from Derek Warner in Australia

Greetings - I am a member of the Paddle Ducks WEB Group for model paddle wheelers [1000 members world wide] & found your WEB site posted recently by one of our  members

I have been building a 1: 24 scale 1878 built paddler & have a French [JMC] horizontal engine, a Scottish [ACS] boiler system & a French [Anton] gaz regulator - I enclose a snap

However I am most interested in your  .......Verdraengungsoeler-mit-Glaszylinder-400-110 [displacement lubricator with glass cylinder tube]

Question - would you make a special version with a 1/4" x ?? TPI male thread form at the base [I will nominate the TPI later when I dissassemble my current unit] ? that could replace my original lubricator

I will now translate this to German

PS - Your WEB site and components are very impressive......best regards Derek

Hi PD's...couldn't resist the temptation   :whistle..so have ordered a 400-110 series glass tubed displacement lubricator from Winfried Niggel....'modellbau-niggel'

At EURO 28 + freight seems super cheap insurance with the clear visual in eliminating any chance of an engine getting a GUT full of water  :crash :sobbing as opposed to steam oil

Winfried confirms the base port tapping is M6x0.5P .......so in true OZ style I will  :hammer modify this & silver solder a 1/4" fitting to suit my ACS manifold

Hi PD's....Crash.... Winfried Niggel seems great to deal with [electronically I mean] but it took a few days to clarify the correct Bank.......VEREINGTE SPARKASSEN ESCHENBACH 1DOPF.....DE7372>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Account

So I don't expect any goods for a week or so....

The costing is great @ ....EURO 28....but the DHL registered air bag was EURO 38  :ranting

The advertised product range from Modellbau-Nigel.de may be limited :crash...however I suspect he may supply others...check out the Monahan boiler package detail....recognise those round bodied transition piece fittings at the top of the boiler & also the same style round bodied fittings to the ...de Oiler?

Will certainly confirm  :goodnews when the clear view 'Oiler" arrives......

Hi PD's.... :oops Crash...does your son live in Western Australia? ......if so it could be Karratha - Iron Ore mines & shipping it out to the world....many years ago I flew 2000km from Sydney to Perth & then 1000km from Perth to Karratha to attend an Australian National Line 100000 DWT ore carrier which had a problem with her main engine governor amplifer pump...but we soon fixed that  :hammer :yeahbaby :great :shhh & then we sent her back to sea  :goodluck :nahnah

Then I had to wait two days for my flight back home so enjoyed a  :beer & .....:vacation...and just for Bogstandard....no, I did not venture into the beautiful blue water...... :nono..too many poisonous sea snakes & blue ringed octopus things

But...getting back on line :offtopic....yes the postage between UK & OZ is great..all of my bits & pieces from Lochgilphead or and Crewe have arrived in the same 4 to 5 days  :towel

Derek,

Sorry to disappoint you, but we have never heard of Modellbau-Nigel.de until now and certainly do not use any of their fittings in our products.

As we have said before, we make absolutely all of our parts in house.

I do have to agree with you, Modellbau-Nigel.de does have some nice stuff.

Best Regards,

Hi PD's & hullo Nick....my comments were simply to acknowledge the visual quality of  :no1b  design style of minature steam fittings irrespective of the source of manufacture, which I had not seen previously.....regards  :towel

Yep thats the place, but I think where he is working is some thing to do with GAS, he has just bought a house in Perth and flies up there for 6 weeks and back for a week , he likes it up there  :( ( probably the money helps) as there is nothing to spend it on ,so the house will be paid of quicker.
yes its supprising how fast postage can be for parcels but letters take two weeks.

My two oilers arrived today , I got one of each. a friend in Germany ordered them and had them sent to him and he forward them to me , they look very good nicely made , should hold enough oil for a days sailing. I will have to make an adapter to use one of them as they are metric, I should have ordered a few more parts when I did this order so will have to start a list for the next lot.

Hello, I have the glass oiler from Modellbau Niggel in my steam tugboat too. It's a very nice quality part, perhaps a bit large for some engines, but certainly nice to look at and I think it's good to be able to know how much oil you have left.
