The colour view is a painting by T K Fitchett, and was the cover of his book 'Down the bay'.
In the 1950s, one of the paddleboxes of PS Hygiea was on display at the entry to Donnybrook Mineral Springs picnic ground.
I have mentioned in an earlier post, in the 1930s the ashes of my great uncle were scattered from one of the three bay-excursion paddlesteamers, by my father and uncle.

A couple of extra photos Ozone related.

1910~-PortMelbourne-RailwayPier.  I can't read the name on the stern.  It seems to be too long for Hygeia or Ozone.  Weeroona didn't arrive until the end of 1910.  I'm guessing that it is Ozone.
