Hi PD's ...... Iam trying to find lines offsets etc. for the PS Hygeia which was built in Scotland for service on Port Philip Bay Victoria, Australia. I have downloaded the article from Downloads which has profiel and plan vies, but no lines.
Has anyone come across these, I am wanting to build this model as a live steam project if possible.
Many thanks, Bruce
Goodness PD's....that is a big vessel Bruce....... :whistle .......what scale are you considering? .....Derek
"PS Hygeia, 986 tons, 300 ft long, paddlesteamer built in 1890 by Napier, Shanks & Bell, of Glasgow for Huddart Parker & Co, she was built to compete directly with the popular PS Ozone, and was generally regarded as one of the fastest and finest appointed paddlesteamers ever built for Australian service, with a top speed in excess of 22 knots"
Give them a ring at www.floataboat.com.au on 03 9879 2227. They have the plans for the Hygeia and paddle wheels as well. See also their September 2009 newsletter.
Hi PD,s as you say Derek quite a vessel. I am looking at a scale of 1:75 giving an o/a length of 4' (1220mm).
Barry thnaks so much for your info. I saw this reference, but really only require lines or offsets. The drawings in the article in the Downloads is quite detailed - enough for me to put into CAD, and since I am planning a live steam project will lay out the drive gear etc in CAD first - preferrably in 3D.
Thank you both for your interest - will keep everyone posted, although I think is going to be something of a marathon effort.
