I have just started to make a pair of paddle wheels from brass. (my first paddle boat)
I am using 1/8'' square brass and I am 'trying' to form a circle of 110mm (4 3/8'') I can see that it is going to be exceedingly difficult unless I can anneal the brass.
Can anyone give me a clue as to how to do this.

1. Don't believe Google

2. First method is to heat brass to cherry red then quench in cold water :c002...this is incorrect

3. Correct method is to heat brass to cherry red then let cool at ambient temperature

4. I see your project as :hammer difficult to achieve.......[been there done that type thing]

5. Talk to Kim @ ......???????? Clyde Model Boats.....he does brilliant scale feathering wheels.........

I will correct the name after I have a :beer .....or two.......Derek.......no not needed.......

My experience is that you can Quench in water, but you get more distortion that air cooling.

Quenching in will do nothing except save time.
To bend a perfect circle you will need a former slightly smaller than the finished item. A length of brass at least 6 inches longer than the circumference. as the ends will not bend as well as the middle.R.G.Y
