There is a new manufacturer of engines in France. The quality looks very good but they are very expensive - I don't think he will sell many at this price.

Thanks logoman....always interesting ......the Typhoon range is small, but the prices even though expensive appear comparable with JMC & Anton ....Derek

Hi PD's......here is an auto translation of the text....the 3 to 6 kg hull displacement seem on the low side?..................

RGY.....are you able to comment on the unique reversing function for a single cylinder operation?........cause I certainly do not understand...... :shoot ......Derek

Yes I will because I had it explained to me , Derek. The reversing leaver is extra long as it goes across it hits a pin on the fly wheel & moves the piston off TDC. Geoff

That's brilliant, how come no one has thought of this before. Damn simple and effective.
Well done that man, for thinking outside the square. Once you know you can see it happen in the video.
cheers

There seems to be a sudden rush of interest in making steam engines with a Chinese made vertical twin being sold through an Australian website at http://modelmarine.net/ and on eBay at
http://www.ebay.com/itm/230901683156?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648 and also a small double acting reversable V twin at
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251127459986?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 . I have bid on and won a V twin so will report on how it goes when I receive it. Both engines seem to be able to be bought on Ebay for much less than the advertised price on the website and on the Buy it Now. Cheers, Ian.

Hi PD's....the Australian importer http://modelmarine.net...is offering a 5"horizontal boiler for US$1285.00 when in fact it is the Mccsteam 5"boiler for 715.00 GBP = US$1156.00 ........their WEBSITE acknowledges these are Maccsteam products

In reality the price differential is OK, as it would be approx AUD$100.00 to air ship the boiler from UK to OZ......

No ...just checked a private consolidated air freight source UK to OZ .........

6kg and the parcel being 400x200x200=...............AUD$191.64............... Derek
