G'day all PDs my name is Gary Gillam I live in Wollongong NSW Australia I was into scale model boats about 35 years ago I then found model power boats &I had a change of direction for about 5 years until club politics reared its ugly head so I sold every thing
&I got out
For the last 30 years I have been involved in live steam &I am a member of the
Illawarra Live Steamers I have built a freelance 2-6-0 5" gauge loco & at present having a brake from a 10 year build of a Victorian R class scale loco also in 5" gauge one of our club members is in the process of building a paddle steamer & since disscutions with him & a recent holiday to Echuca the home of Australian paddle steamers have decided
To also build one as I have a couple of small stationary steam engines looking for something to do
I intend to build my own boiler for the steamer as the commercial ones are way to expensive & as I have already built 3  x 5" gauge boilers I feel it will be quite interesting
Building one for a paddler
Hopefully I will start a thread of the build as it progresses
