Hi, I live in a small town in Mississippi, USA. I lived in New Orleans, La for many years. There are quite a few paddleboats on the Mississippi river, most of them being sternwheelers. There was a side wheel paddle boat, the SS President, which had gone up and down the river for many years. I took many trips on that boat. It had a dance floor and a great restaurant. She was sold to another city and now I understand she is abandoned and partially sunk; pity, many great memories.
So much for my trip down memory lane. I have just started getting interested in model boats. I have modeled airplanes for many years. My boating interests are many. I just discovered your fabulous site from a post on rcgroups, Vintage model boats and ship plans. I don't know how much I can contribute to a boating forum, but I know I can learn a lot.
Thanks for granting me membership. Here's to a long and fruitful relationship

Hi Vince
You made me remember my visit to New Orleans in the '80's when I went on the tourist paddler....I think it was the 'Natchez'....I loved the calliope!
Have fun here....Cheers....Bernie
A very late welcome from Oregon...happy paddling!
Howdy Vince! I grew WAY up river of you on the banks of the Ohio in a small town in West Virginia just south of Wheeling so I guess we both have a kindred spirit when it comes to river craft.
I plan to be spending more time here as I get back into my builds so I look forward to sharing some experiences here on the boards. We can't have everyone here to be from the Empire! ;)
