Hello all, my name is Hugh, and I live a couple of hours south of Sydney, Australia. I'm a keen, but infrequent, visitor to Echuca, which is the only place I know to see a paddle boat.
Some years ago I bought plans for a model of PS Etona, which I finally saw on my most recent trip to Echuca, about a month ago. I hope to get around to making a model of the Etona, when all the other things are out of the way.
Looks to be a great forum, and I look forward to acquainting myself with it, and its members further.
Kind regards, Hugh.
Welcome Hugh.....I recognise you from the MEM WEB group
I assume your plans are the SP301 A&B from Float a Boats Adrian Brewer. His plans are rather faithful, and will make a superb model @ 1:24
Just as MEM has many very talented engine/machinery builders, PD members can offer a wealth of knowledge in paddle wheeler construction
Pleas take the time to read a few plank on frame constructions in our archives, however naturally any questions .....just post away
One of our world wide group will only be too happy to assist
Derek :beer
BTW....Mannum in SA is also a great place to see rebuilt heritage live steam paddlers
Hi Derek,
Yes, it is me, and yes, they are Mr Brewers plans. The talents of this forums members are remarkable, and I will be trawling the various posts to get an idea of how best to go about things.
Many thanks for your welcome.
Hugh.
