Hello there, I'm new here ,I'm English but I live here in Italy.I trained as a harpsichord maker ,but I also have made guitars ,lots of furniture etc. I've always been interested in engines as my father was a toolmaker (still with us!) and restored old cars ,also my great grandfather was Mr. Brown of Brown and May steam engines of Devises ,they made stationary engines and traction engines. I don't know if they ever made any boat engines ,but maybe somebody out there may know?.I know that a couple of there engines are in museums in Oz and NZ and some are also in the UK. Anyway,I don't have a lot of free time at the mo, but I recently bought a small lathe and a little mill and got to work on a Stuart 10h kit ,that came out quite well ,so I decided to have a go with the plans for the Liney machine rv2. It turned out to be quite a challenge because its tiny!, also they are only drawings, no instructions(which is good! I've learnt a great deal!).Here's a photo of most of the bits ,I just have to drill and tap a few holes and put it all together! .when it's done I'll put up another pic.....Giles
Good to have you with us Giles... It sounds like building engines is in the blood with your family!
The flat four boxer engine looks very nice indeed....
