Once again I check my email to find I have a message from 'ebay' warning me that someone else has been using my user-id and that I should click on the link to go to ebays security site and confirm my UID, password and even my credit card details. This despite the fact that Ebay say they will NEVER ask for these details by email.
Now, contrary to what some may say I actually WASN'T born yesterday and a quick check of the 'properties' for the message shows this;-

Received: from 216.133.244.110  (EHLO mail.lsds.com)

Even just placing the mouse pointer over the link (without clicking at all) shows in the lower left corner of the screen that the link does not go to an Ebay site.
They just don't give up do they!

Sadly it's a common problem Mick - Just remember that if you get an unexpected email asking for ANY personal details IGNORE IT!!!

If you think there is even a small chance it could be genuine, phone the company concerned and ask - but make sure you look up the phone number yourself, do NOT just blindly dial a number which is listed in the email!

At the end of the day it comes down to common sense, but some of these spoof emails do look very convincing! So take Micks advice or suffer the consequences!

If you believe you have such an email you should send it to spoof@ebay.co.uk. If they get enough info they may be able to track these ****! down and stop them.

I've had these every month or two as well. As Rick says - tell e-bay. They have always come back to me fairly quickly confirming them as spoofs.
