I put the digital tachometer on it with 12v supply from my power supply built at Tech school way back in the seventies it gave 57.75 rpm at these rev's the beam was rather slow although it runs very smoothly.

My camera takes stills & video but I can't workout the video part

New pulley turned a little under double the diameter of the original, still have to drill & tap for the grub screw the pic also shows the spring I'll somehow attach to apply light pressure the drive belt.

The new pulley increases the wheel revs to 79 rpm so I removed the main pulley chucked it in lathe and reduced the diameter by about 5mm then cut the new pulley groove put it back together and the batteries ion the tacho were flat, tomorrow's another day.

That will be spent vacuuming the dust from machining the body filler main pulley it's everywhere.

It seems to me that your "strap" is very loose (not tight enough), no; and is it glued with cyanoacrylate glue.

I know you were having problems with video Damien, but I'd love to see a video of it in action if you can manage it?

I was holding it tight While doing the tests, I still have to make the attachment points and the rod for the centre of the spring.

Eddy I've worked out how to take the videos I just have to learn how to put them on youtube now.

Can anyone give me an estimate of the expected paddle RPM please?

Some 3mm spiked nuts arrived today I'll put them in hull tags to hold the motor assembly in place tomorrow.

Nuts fitted my guess of keel to motor clearance was a close call if the belt stretches even a little the motor tray will hit the keel.

There's not much room inside for the radio and batteries I've ordered 10 x 6ooo mAH sub C batteries on ebay I'll build 2 packs of 5 cells and velcro them to hull walls then worry about the Rx & Rx battery then think on the speed controller placement.
