Hello my name is Kevin and have two yachts, six foot freighter, two tugs one three foot one one foot, a two foot fishing under re fit, and now the paddle boat.

  I have no idea with this one how to get the drive from the motor to the drive shaft between the two paddle wheels, I have put the motor and a fly wheel on the deck of the second photo.
I am hoping that someone can help with some information on the drive coupling.

Hello Kevin,

Welcome to Paddleducks.  You're in the right place for your latest model.

Regarding the motor to drive the paddlewheels then it's usual to mount a geared motor sideways underneath the paddle shaft above and connect the two with a pulley belt. The gear ratio should drive the paddle shaft at around 100 to 200 RPM. It is not ideal to have two motors on separate shafts as this might cause the boat to turn turtle.

I had thought of using two motors like I have in my tank but it would not work the as with the tank and as you say it could make things unstable as it is quite a narrow boat.
