Hi Pd's

a.. Can any one offer comment on what approx year period that steel braided wire was introduced over woven rope as for supporting say masts & jibs? [as distinct from sailing ships rigging ropes etc]
b.. I have looked at Mike's costing for 4" brass paddle wheel sets and @ UK100 pound per set & whilst it may sound expensive, if I paid myself AUD$2.00 for every hour I have spent on Decoys wheels I would have near exceeded Mikes price & I have not finished my set yet
c.. Mike - what scale is your PS Adelaide? - weren't Adelaides wheels 14' in diameter?
regards Derek

Mike Mayhew

Thanks for the comments re wheels , these are for Paddlers in Europe and
Britain, Your Adelaide and others are in the process of being cut. My
Adelaide will be at 1:24 scale wheels to be 7" diameter. Dereck.
Have aquired aboiler and a pair of pistons complete which with a little
thought will make an acceptable engine unit for a Murry River steamer.
How many would be interested in a set of 7" wheels? Mike.
