Yes....very highly sophisticated engineering components.

I have often considered them for constructing mechanisms for boats and other models. I think they are used extensively in robots.

They also have a CAD program which can be downloaded from their website FOC allowing you to do a a 'soft' construction/design. This includes all dimensions, gear ratios etc. of all their components.

It looks pretty good, but it does seem to need high pressure to work which may be difficult to achieve in a model?

Has anyone used the Lego gears for other model purposes?

Does anyone have any links to groups that use Lego for projects?

They seem to be a secretive bunch and I can't even seem to locate any local sellers of this product any more.
