G,day all.
As mentioned in my first post I am doing the drawings for Chieftain. I am at a loss as to how the paddle boxes are attached to the hull sides as the drawings I have are rather small and indistinct.
If there are any pictures of Chieftain around please point me in their direction so that deck, deckhose and ancilliaries can be added to the drawings.

Just type Chieftain into our PD search box on the Home Page.....& BINGO........you will find 28 previous postings  on the model vessel...some as early as 2005 and some 

Read all of these & you may find your answer ...if not ask again & we will assist...like  but 

1. four square holes in each side of the hull....calculate the positioning first 
2. add four  square wooden beams atwart the hull ...naturally in the square holes previously mentioned
3. construct the wooden sponsons on the four sections of the four atwart beams
4. construct the paddle box's on the sponsons....
5. naturally, the atwart beams can be removed within the hull if necessary, however only after adaquate internal structural support is installed
6. did the Chieftian have external angular bracing below the sponsons back to the hull?.........

The 4 page article, by George Baker, posted by Eddy Matthews shows exactly what I was looking for. Your construction notes will help as well.
At the moment the hull sections have been drawn and I am tossing about the idea of egg-crate construction for the keel and formers. This was very successful with the model appended to my initial post. This was done in photographic mount board, computer cut by a local business (they have a laser-cutter and a cardboard cutter and they persuaded me to go the cardboard route... no burnt edges on the ply). I am still marvelling at the precision obtained... everything just slotted together.
When it gets to the cutting stage, I will be doing it the trace and saw method.

Welcome to you and good luck with your build Clive

Just back on line after a house sale and moving into the new home. Things nautical and drawing have taken a back seat for the time being until the new workshop is planning approved and built (we have a b**gger of a council and they do not allow any construction without a planning permit, even a garden shed, don't dare call it a workshop).
The frames are all but complete, just need to check fairness when placed on the keel.
