Hello 

I am searching information about russian paddle steamer "Nagadan" (1900-1904). ( ex. Windsor Castle, later Culzean Castle and Carrick Castle)

All that is still found:

"In 1900 the company KVZHD purchased and renamed the «Nagadan». Introduced in the Japanese built in 1906 as «NAGARA MARU». In 1913, renamed the «TENRI MARU». Sold for scrap in Japan in the first half of 1932
Participation in RJW:
Before the war worked on the line Port-Arthur - Chifu. At the beginning of the war was in Dalny. When russian troops leaving the city sunked at the entrance to the dock because of defective machines."

Interesting stuff, I have heard of this paddler as Culzean Castle, then Carrick Castle, on the Clyde. As far as I can find out, she was called Windsor Castle originally when built at Southampton.  (Eddy, I'm sure your pic is of a different Windsor Castle, seen leaving Gourock on the Clyde)

According to "Steamers of the Clyde", NAGADAN was captured intact by Japanese troops during the Russo-Japanese war. After this she ran under the Japanese flag as NAGARA MARU then TENRI MARU. In November 1931 she went ashore at Matsu Shima, Japan.
