Thoughout I would let you know about this book 'from Comet to Caledonia by Donald Watson and published by Brown Son & Ferguson Ltd.  ISBN 0-85174-671-3.  Thirty Clyde Paddlers are illustrated by a three-view drawing carrying notes about the alterations made during the steamers life, there is a short text with brief details about the ship, and photographs or a sketch of each ship is also included.  It's a great book still available from the publishers for less than £25.
