Has anyone got a screwdriver I can borrow?

Those that know me, will be aware that I've had back problems for most of my adult life - which ended up needing three seperate spinal operations to correct. So my back is now held together with metal rods and screws - Hey it makes for impressive X-rays 

Anyway, recently I've started to get back pain once more - So here we go again I thought.... And after having a scan on friday, I now find out that one of the screws is coming undone, and hence the pain! It really inspires confidence in our surgeons doesn't it?

But the good news is that they should be able to fix it with a minor op to either tighten the screw or remove it totally - I should be in and out of hospital the same day. So all I need is a screwdriver and everything will be fine

Just get yourself to my workshop and I'll do it for you, you won't catch anything while you are here. You will even get a decent cup of coffee afterwards.

  PD's........from the consultation Eddy.....did the Surgeon General advise if it was a Phillips head screw or one of those FLAT ones that needed a 1/4 turn 

I have plenty here in OZ.....I could always post over one of each if needed  ....I could also include a can or two of OZ  ......was only a few days ago that bogstandard complemented on the quality.....from memory he suggested it was similar to Dogs PI*S  ...I am not sure how he came to that conclusion

PS.... but ask the Surgeon General which grade of LOCTITE he proposes to use this time?........Derek

PPS...on second thoughts....that new "infermenaryyyy" @ Crewe Engineering looks pretty sterile...lots of bright sparks  from what I see & probably a bit less expensive then the British Health would charge

PPPS ...at least you would know the origin of the staff prior to the operation......one bloke that should have been deported years ago....one dog & one mog
PPPPS....just make sure you are polite & don't upset the applecart as ...it's the same team that will be making your No4 engine

I could send over a  Robinson (Square drive) Screwdriver and some screws what size do you need and what material?

Why use a screw? How about we tig weld that sucker together? 

It should stay together for a long time then.

Can't do welding, this is a family forum so I can't mention  where they attach the ground clamp
but those 6" nails Eddy was asking for might work just bang over the ends

Ouch, I never knew that. Well then I guess the nails will have to do. I hope they are stainless.

Sorry to hear about your 'loose screw'. Two months at least, seem an awful time to wait in pain. Is there nothing that can be done to speed things up a bit?

I'm sure all the guys on here have the correct tools for the job. Maybe there's a doctor in the house.

The usual thing Ken - I could have the operation next week, if I pay to go privately.... Now, there's a surprise eh?

After having constant pain for almost 30 years before it was eventually "sorted", I can cope with a few months... It's nowhere near as bad as it was prior to having the scaffolding put in, when I could have days when walking was impossible, in fact even to get into a standing position could take me 10 minutes or more!

In fact, even if I had the money to pay for the op, I'd probably still do something silly like spending it on Johns horizontal paddler engine rather than line some quacks back pocket
