I have been searching for information on building a steam powered sidewheeler or sternwheeler.
I live in Louisiana (USA) with the Mississippi River on one side of me, and Lake Pontchartrain on the other.
It just think it would be really cool to have a  steam powered paddlewheeler party boat.
I am quickly coming to the conclusion, however, that in order to do what I want may be far beyond my skills and means. I envisioned something about 16' X 40' X 3',  double decked, that I could get to cruise about 10-12 mph.
It's nice to think about, anyway. With probably 2 engines, boilers, clean water and charcoal for fuel, it may be a bit more than I can  handle. I'm 63 and retired, so I can think nutty things.
I probably should have started this 20 years ago. LOL

Everyone have a good day.

Sparkzz ,

You are never too old to make your dreams come true.

The picture on this site was an eccentric modeller from the UK called Bill Wilkinson, who produced fantastic models from all sorts of junk and materials.

Have a look at the fleet.

Unfortunately he left us a few years ago, but only after showing us all that fantastic models can be built with a bit of research and ingenuity.

Welcome to the site.

John
