My car had to have it's yearly MOT test this morning, always a worrying time, and made more so this year after all of our other problems - But it flew through the test with no problems whatsoever  :yeahbaby

So this evening it's time to relax and have a few beers......

Hi Eddy, you've reminded me I'll have to check at what stage this month my MoT is due then I'll check when the cars' one is due too   ;D  Always an expensive time of the year with VED to be paid at the end of the month too.

cheers

Jim

I figure MOT is Ministory of Transport (we have one here and they are always expensive to talk too),
but what is VED ? It sound like something you need to treat with penicillin  ;D

Be wary of strong drink. It can make you shoot at tax collectors--and miss. Lazarus Long

that'd be Vehicle Excise Duty? (or 'road tax') and they always seem to be finding excuses to increase it!

Congratulations.  I look at passing the MOT as  'saving further expense', which is always pleasing.  ;D

Despite the high cost of living,
                    it still remains popular.

Hello PD's,

Eddy, I've got to thank you. This weekend my wife had asked if I had paid the annual vehicle registration for our car. Thinking I had, I gave it no further consideration. Then when this thread appeared I really began to wonder if I had. I went through the paperwork neatly piled on my desk (not) and miraculously was able to locate the registration form. Sure enough, I hadn't and the due date is April 8. After that, penalties start to incur up to 50% of the annual fee. Fortunately it is still April 7 here in California and we are able to pay on-line. So needless to say that was taken care of before I shared this story with you all.

Thanks again Eddy and everyone else.
