I am building a static model of a small sternwheeler, ca 1890, as used on rivers in the Pacific Northwest: Oregon, Washington, British Columbia etc.

I am looging for information on what the drive system would have looked like: Boiler, steam engine, cranks, pitman (?) arms etc.

I am basically a model railroader, but my railroad is a small coastal logging outfit, with a sternwheeler as the only connection to the rest of the world...

Although this catalog is a reprint of a 1902 catalog I think the engines and boilers are very much the same as in 1890.  The catalog reprint is titled:   The Marine Iron works of Chicago USA.

I am  researching a stern wheeler that was built and launched here in Eugene, Oregon in 1989.  It sailed on the Willamette River in Oregon.  I found the engines in this catalog.  The catalog also contains several boilers and plans for small river stern wheelers.
