A lovely looking model Rusty....  Strangely enough I've just got hold of a model of the Pilat which needs renovating. I hope to eventually have it steam powered, but as usual it all comes down to cost!

After searching high and low I've been unable to find very much information on the real vessel, do you have anything other than what is included on the plans?

Please keep us updated on your progress...

ahhhh yes we would all like our models powered by steam, but lol the drawings behind the pilat are for another model of mine, "the African Queen"( I just cannot sit down and do one model) This really annoys my wife  but you get these little things. The photos were taken from side view (bow facing right) and an angled shot to get the whole thing in.

It is going to cost me way too much to power this thing by steam although she has a 12V steam unit in the funnel so it looks as though it is a steam engine and im trying to find an engine noise kit to go with the model.

Alas I Cannot find any information pertaining to a real PS Pilat so i decided to just have fun in the construction of her and try a few new techniques, in the decking like inlays and the like.
I also have run up a big order with www.floataboat.com for all her metal fittings e.g. brass chain railing surrounding the whole boat,  Bollards, etc etc.

anyhoo later guys talk to yas soon

:respect  all hail the Dremel
