Anthony, looking good! (and welcome). Oldie
thank you.the paddle is 1400long by 410 wide by 400 higth from top of the cabin to bottom of hull. when finish next i want to built is a side wheeler some like the patra or simmer. :D :D :D
can any one give me any idears of finishing her.also what the easy why of sealing the hull for the water. :?: :?: do some of the old paddler have wood rails or where all steel.(hand rails)
Waterproofing really depends on exactly what materials were used to build the hull - Balsa needs much more work than ply or solid timber, plywood can either be marine ply which is designed for a certain amount of exposure without delaminating, or cheaper ply which will quickly fall apart in a damp environment.
The rails can be made from wood, or metal rails with a wooden top rail, or all metal..... It all depends on the vessel being modelled.
If you give more information on the materials you've used for the hull etc a full explanation on sealing/waterproofing can be given.
top and bottom is ply but the sides balsa.
also im running ele at the mount if i whanted to go steam what size plant will i need for this size paddle.
