My Feb.09 Ferries Australia (issue 60) arrived today.
It includes a photo of PS Royal Alfred as a Sydney Harbour ferry.
One item I am appending as a pdf. For the annual Australia Day parade, some First Fleet ferries are decorated, and race.
The winner this year was MV Sirius, decorated as a giant floating bath duck.
Regrettably, scanning for a pdf often results in unwanted white patches, but I don't have the time to experiment with a different solution.
The First Fleet class is a nippy middle-size two-deck catamaran harbour ferry (screw or water jet, not paddle, probably with thrusters).
There is an MV Scarborough, named after the ancestral home of a paddleducker who posted earlier in this thread.
