Title: MS Internet Explorer 7***New Security
Post by: derekwarner_decoy on February 28, 2009, 12:00:22 AM
Hi PD's...despite suggestions from those with a greater interlect in the computing world ....I let Microsoft install the latest security 'bits' for IE7

The result is I now have to hold the CTRL key + to view most things....including any attachment link here on PD's

Has any other PD been fooled by MS like me?......... :shoot :ranting.......Derek

Derek,

Click on "Tools" and turn off the pop-up blocker - Either that, or if you still want to use it, just enter Paddleducks into your "Trusted" sites by entering it into the "Security Zone"....

To assign a website to a security zone

1. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
2. Click the Security tab, and then click a security zone: Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites.
3. Click the Sites button. If you clicked Local intranet in step 2, click Advanced.
4. Type the Internet address (URL) for the website that you want to add to this zone, and then click Add.

If you want to add a website to the list of trusted sites, but the site is not secured (the address begins with HTTP instead of HTTPS), clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box before adding the address. If that option is selected, you can only add secure websites to the list.

Repeat step 4 for each site you want to add to the zone.
5. When you are finished adding sites, click Close, and then click OK.

Either way will allow pop-ups to display normally.

Regards
Eddy

"Somtimes I wonder about Mr Gates & the MS think tank"
I have a cousin that does computer trouble shooting and he thinks they are great, without them he would have to find "honest work". He especially loves the new Vista OS, His favorite expression is " If you want to see me a lot buy a PC".
Regards,
Gerald.

I'm running Mozilla Firefox,so none of this kerfuffle.
But if IE was working ok before, just restore it to a time before you installed the "update".
