Film: All Rivers Run : from Australia

Hi Derek,
What was the side wheelers name that was used in the Film All Rivers
Run? It was an OZ film taken on the Murray river I think.
The boat was very nice to say nothing of the lead actress.

Leighton,
The boat in the film is the P.S. Pevensey. I am 3/4 of the way
through building a 1/50 model.Power is a cassette recorder motor at
6volts. The only problem so far is like me it is a bit over weight for it's
size so I have put a layer of foam on the base of the hull. Hopefully this
works,if not a new hull is in the making. You can also get a 1/24 plan
from a company called FloatABoat in Camberwell, Victoria here in Oz.

Hi Peter,
I have the same problem, they tell me if I was 10' tall I'd have the
correct weight to height ratio.
Regarding your model do you have any photos as you have progressed?
If so could you put them on the photo board?
I'd also be interested to see how your power plant works, do you
have it under RC and do you have reverse?

I don't have any photos as yet for 2 reasons firstly my scanner is down and
secondly I don't usually photograph unfinished models,this is a throwback to my aircraft
modelling days as I felt it was bad luck, as to the other points - yes it is R/C, is there
anything else in life, and yes the motor is reversible and the speed controller is a
Hunter Systems "Eco Marine" the batteries will be 4 rechargeable alkaline manganese
AA batteries giving 6voltsat 1amp. I am currently using these batteries in a 1/350
"Tirpitz" and performance is great.If you want some cheap motors for small models try
Dick Smith Electronics as they have a 3v-12v motor which sells in Oz for $1-98 ea.,
they also have the alkaline manganese batteries which they sell under the RAM label

The boat USED in the series was the P.S. Pevensey, but renamed
"Philadelphia" for the show. She , the Pevensey is still running daily
excursions on the Murray at Echuca (Victoria).

"Our" Sigrid Thorton is still a top actress, most recently in the
popular TV comedy series "Sea Change".
