After drilling out a dowel intended to be one of a pair of stacks during
my lunch break today I wondered if it might be a good idea to find and
use a chunk of bamboo for same.
Already is hollow, fairly strong and lightweight.
Screwy idea?

Hi Randy:
What diameter stacks do you need to build? You can make stacks from
styrene tube or even use .020 styrene sheet and "roll your own"
funnels.

Hello Randy,
I solved that problem with a trip to the hardware store. PVC pipe
comes in many diameters and, of course, lengths. You may have to
remove some of the inner wall at the top of the stack for scale
purposes but I found it handy. Another suggestion is brass or copper
tubing though probably more expensive.
