Stuart - from your posting "reliant MO9" you are obviously using plans

My attempt at PS Decoy is totally scratch, so to help me better understand
actuals could you please reconfirm & come back with the following for
PS Reliant

Scale of model
Major OD of wheels
Minor ID of paddlebox diameter - or the clearance between etc , etc
Estimated major depth of paddle wheel in water

From your latest photo postings I fear a potential fundemental design error
on my part with the wheels - "drat"

Dear Derek

The scale of 'Old Trafford/Reliant is half inch to the foot = 1/24th. The
outside diameter of the paddle wheels is 7 3/8th inches. The inner minimum
diameter of the paddle boxes is 8 inches - but there is a little more
clearance fore and aft as the boxes are very slightly eliptical in shape
(major axis horizontal, minor vertical).

the maximum depth between the water surface and the bottom of the paddle
wheel rim on the model would be 3 1/8th inches - this would represent the
original with a full load of coal, full boilers etc loaded right up to the
register mark.

Thanks again Stuart - Drawing 4531 is very interesting, and with the A & B
immersion depths noted makes me feel a little happier - regards Derek
