Sailing days.
« on: November 18, 2021, 08:02:17 AM »
Just had a lovely morning sailing at The darlington model boat club. Conditions were perfect for paddlers, clean. calm water to show off the delicate paddle wash. I was sailing a version of Glynn Guests Phantom blockade runner ( built by Ian Archibald for one of the Paddler Days at the club. Those who met Ian found him a life-long dedicated modeler who at 85 now suffers badly from Parkinsons disease which affects his ability to make models to the point where he has had to give up). Bob Golder another veteran model boat builder, Bought the model from Ian and I have recently got it from Bob to make sure it stays in the club! It was one of those days where everything went right and I sailed for about an hour!  On Sunday my old Bournemouth Queen (Still owned and sailed at the club) had one of its regular outings. Now thirty years old it still sails well. Happy days!!!. Next stage is to fully rig Phantom  and replace the undersized ships boats. I am also adding a deck cargo of 9 pounder "napoleon" field guns and limbers 3d printed in an extra light plastic to save weight, Ready for its next night run through the blockade! There I go rambling on again.!. regards, walter.
Blessed are the "cracked" -for they let in the light for the rest of us.
