4 mushroom vents turned and fitted to 3mm threaded rod, actually I turned 8 of them as I cut them from the dowel spinning in the lathe with a razor saw 4 vanished into the will blue yonder at the moment of separation the'll show up eventually.
2 ready for dope sealer the other 2 will be chucked in cordless drill & with drill running will be sanded to the mushroom dome as the others were.

Hello;
Oops as you say, but not lost forever ... one day maybe? Good idea to hide "locks" with aerators

Damian, your model looks excellent. It`s also a good solution to disguise the bolts with the mushroom vents. But how about the nautical stability of the boat?

Thanks Thomas I've float tested her she's stern heavy and leans to port I think judicial placement of batteries and RC gear will overcome these problems at least I hope so.
The lean to port is because of the drive motor placement.

Brackets to mount the hold down nuts to, dope applied I'll epoxy in place prior to drilling the pilot holes.
The mushroom vents were doped as well but forgot to take pic.

First of brackets for the captive nuts epoxied in place.
Second,
All 4,
No need for worry about brass tube for hiding the mushroom vent screws between upper and mid decks.
These extra long drills 1.5mm to 4mm very handy in situations like accurately drilling through 2 decks.

Got the holes drilled bolts with mushroom vents in place.
Decided they'd look better with a base to look like a seal where the vents come through the decks.
The knurled nuts are holding them in place as the glue dries.
The same will be done for the top & bottom of the brass tubes for the Forward vents.

Decided the next 4 would be more accurate if turned on the lathe mounted them on 4mm bolts with dual nuts to stop them undoing mid turning.
The centre hole was drilled 3.5mm and enlarged with a burr in dremel for an exact fit on the brass tube.
Turned to 9.8mm finished to 9.69mm with a 180 grit sanding board.

Painted the mushroom vents look good.
The forward brackets with the rivnuts (rivet nuts) in place.
I decided on Rivnuts epoxied into brackets as there wasn't enough room for the captive nuts.
and a view of the brass tubes with upper and lower glands in place

Grrrrrrr finally got into the shed ready to apply decals only to discover I'd printed Josie's name on sticky back white paper by mistake instead of decal paper.
Have printed on decal paper will hit it with clear tomorrow.

Sprayed some clear into a cup then put it in an airbrush bottle added thinners then sprayed the decal paper worked well with the thin coat of acrylic clear.

I've been pondering how to stop water ingress at the slot the paddle shaft sits in the deck covers most of it on the inside with still enough room for considerable water ingress.
Decided on 2mm pvc and asked missus very nicely if she had any thin felt in her craft stuff I scored some 1mm white felt made her a
The plan is to saturate the felt with oil or melted grease. Ideas welcome.
Sitting in position when assembled and bolted in position I'll fit a collar or perhaps a spring between the wheels to the paddle shaft to hold the cover in place.
The decal for Josie's name decal on one side had a fault so I applied a wet rag and soaked it off and made another today all being well I'll apply it tomorrow as well.
