I built a sternwheeler in digital Lego (don't laugh...)

Hello!

My name is Martin Nilsson. Maybe you will not take this seriously, but I have constructed a digital Lego model of a medium size sternwheeler, in a program known as MLCad. Perhaps I will order the Lego bricks needed to build it for real, soon.

Here it is:

It is modeled freely after prototypes like this one: http://www.sternwheelercharters.com/gallery.htm .

(But my model has an interior which suggests it is coal powered with a steam engine, whereas that prototype probably is using an ordinary modern diesel motor.)

The thing is, there is a site called Lego Cuusoo, where people can suggest Lego set concepts to the Lego company. If the idea gets 10 000 votes, the company will consider making that concept into an official mass produced Lego set. I have submitted my sternwheeler model to this Cuusoo site. Here is the link to my sternwheeler on Cuusoo: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/57138 . There you can read more about my model, see more pictures, and, among other things, see how I have planned to make the paddlewheel turn as the boat is pushed along on the floor, through some simple Lego mechanics.

If you want to, you can also register at that Cuusoo site (easiest done if you have a facebook or twitter account), and then vote for my model! Maybe you have kids who would love to have a sternwheeler Lego set to play with? There has only been one paddlewheel boat as a Lego set previously, and that was in the 1980's, and far less advanced than my proposal.

Thank you in advance!
