PS Castalia - the paddle cat!!

I found this while researching some childhood memories of the English
Channel Paddlers and thought you might get a kick out of THIS wild
and wonderful little bit of "sweet insanity"..I won't spoil your fun,
so have a look for yourselves..she's right up there on my list of
"Paradoxical Paddlers"....ships that deserve to be modeled but never
WILL be!!

The caption a the bottom of the record made me smile a little:
"As a result she was withdrawn within ten years and sold in
1883 to the Metropolitan Asylums Board for use as a floating
hospital on the Thames in Long Reach"

There's a hint wry irony there !!!
