steam winch
« on: April 18, 2012, 01:39:37 PM »
hi paddlers,
i had my first go at a scratchbuild steamwinch .
i needed one for my sternwheeler (also a scratchbuild and also a first one)
tell me what you think of it ,all comments are welcome .
pictures of the paddler will follow later
since i cannot build continously the intervals of a buildinglog would be to long .
greetings from Bombus
if i haven't done it i'll try it
and maybe it will work

Good job. I am sure you enjoyed the challenge of scratch building, it is very satisfying. :08 I will make a suggestion not a criticism rub down where the ropes will have worn the paint away. then paint silver or brown. This will add a little more colour.  Your decision it is your project. Well done. :clap R.G.Y.

thanks for the nice replies guys  :)
R.G.Y you're right that's what's missing a little touch off colour .
i will add it this afternoon and post a picture off the result
perhaps also a small preview of the scratchbuild sternwheeler itself ?

hi R.G.Y. and fellow paddlers,
as you suggested the weathering on my winch(indeed it gives some additional depth  as you said it would )
and as promissed the previews of my scratchbuild
as always I'm wide open for comments and positive criticism
hope to hear from you

I love all the little detail touches, the storm lamp, cooking pots, fully fitted bridge/pilot house etc etc....

Well done!

Regards
Eddy

Wow, I like that very much, the 18th century (?) people on board are perfect. Just wondered what scale is it in, I couldn't paint the eyes of the figures like that in 25th scale, let alone anything smaller....

thnx so much , its always rewarding to get a nice comment
as a matter of fact it is 1/25.
the figures are from schleich but i repainted them an also adapted them for my steamer
i do intend to get some more crew and /or passengers but it's a matter of finding the right ones  ;)
