I picked this up from another group yesterday

On the subject of ancient coal-fired steamships, there are currently
two operating daily in New Zealand. The "Waimarie" is a 1900 English-
built paddle-steamer, rescued from the Wanganui River bed, on the
west coast of the North Island, about 10 years ago and returned to
service late last year. It can carry up to about 250 people on day
cruises on the lower reaches of the river. A delightful vessel.
at the suggestion these days...(snip)
....Both ships are hand-fired.
Thames built and sent dismantled. Hey. look at her what a nice
modeling subject.

Oh and apparently the FIRST ship in the world to be registered in the
new Millennium on January 1, 2000.
