    OK,  so I cheated and used Graupner plastic paddle wheels

But Graupner wheels are quite substantial in heavy weather at Tynemouth!

Very nice, Sandy, I'm sure I have seen a photo of these two together at the Broomielaw, when the Lochfyne was new. The Lochfyne had the grey hull livery then

Correct Fitz,
the photo of LOCHFYNE and GLENCOE together was in 1931 when LOCHFYNE was new, and GLENCOE was reaching the end of her 85 years.
MacBraynes always seem to get their moneys worth out of their ships
