Curious request!
« on: November 05, 2010, 09:59:21 PM »
Hello fiolks! A curious question- I require some German WW2 anti aircraft guns in 1/72 scale!. preferably plastic but metal would do. What I am looking for is : 37mm single in dual purpose mount, 20mm single mounts, Flakvierling quad mount,  single and twin heavy machine guns plus Kriegsmarine crews. I have  searched the usual suspects- Revell, Tamiya, Italieri etc, but none are in production. Anyone seen any recently from lesser known companies or Wargame maufacturers?. As my eyesight is getting a bit poor I dont fancy scratch building the numbers I need in such a small scale! Regards, Walter

Thanks for the quick reply Stuart. The only bit of that kit I could use is the barrel assembly and boy, What a price! I think I will have to "bite the bullet" (Ha-Ha) and scratch build them. AT 1/72 scale that allows a bit of license. The reason for the curiou request is that I have been given a superb photograph of a German WW2 paddle steamer converted to an anti aircraft escort, I believe in the Baltic. I have not been able to identify the particular ship and it may be a Polish vessel pressed into service. It is a small paddler ( looks to be 160-180 feet) and has a rather English look about it as a lot of Polish paddlers did. Regards, Walter.

That price is yen, not dollars or euros.
