We use a pipe to syphon water out of our lake when the level gets too high - During the long cold winter we've just had the pipe got damaged by the ice.... The guys at the club have done a sterling job digging the old pipe out and reinstalling a new one - So now we can keep the waterlevel constant.

Catering will be provided by Sue Fish and her daughter in the community centre, which is only about 100 yds from the lake, so hot and cold food and drinks will be available. Toilet facilities are also in the community centre.

Models can be dropped off at our clubhouse so there's no need to hump large and heavy models around, but we do ask that you then move your car down to the carpark - Again it's only about 150yds away.

As we've done every year, there will be a Bring & Buy stall in operation, so please remember to bring anything you'd like to sell. It doesn't have to be Paddler, or even modelling related... A 10% commission is payable by the seller on all succesful sales. This helps us to pay for the costs of staging the event!

There will be various prizes awarded at the end of the day - All judging is done by those actually sailing, so there's no favouritism... It's up to YOU who wins! The various classes for the prizes will be posted later.

So that's it for now - I'll update things as we progress. In the meantime, if anyone has any questions or anything they are unsure of, either PM me here on the forum, or email me at eddy.matthews@paddleducks.co.uk

Finally, can everyone PLEASE make sure you inform your clubs about the event! It doesn't take a lot of effort to put a note on a noticeboard if you have one, or just keep plugging away at your fellow club members so they don't forget about the show! September 4th 2011 (for those that may have forgotten! ;) ).

Eddy

Just a quick reminder that it's only three months until Paddler Day 2011, so there isn't long if your getting a model ready to bring!

This will be the fifth time we've staged the show at Darlington & District Model Boat Club, so we'd like to see as many people attending the event as possible! This is a totally unique event in the modelling calendar, so it's well worth coming along to see some of the magnificent models, even if you don't have one of your own to sail. Just remember that it's paddlers ONLY on the water though!

As always, there will be a "Bring & Buy" stall in operation, so get those unwanted items dug out from your workshop and bring them along. 10% commission is payable by the seller on all successful sales, which helps us to cover the costs of staging the event. Items for sale do NOT have to be paddler related, we'll accept almost anything! And you never know, as well as earning a few bob, you might just pick up a bargain too...

Clyde Model Boats will be attending the show again. They have a superb range of hulls, paddlewheel kits, motors etc etc. And if your interested in purchasing something from them, I'm sure Kim would be more than happy to pop it in his van so you can save on postage if you phone him or email him in advance.

There will be hot and cold food available all day, on-site toilets (both male and female), and free parking....

Finally, PLEASE remember to tell your clubmates about the show! Not everyone has internet access, so if you don't tell them they won't know about it will they? ;)

Hi All,
Yes, myself and Susan will be there and have just confirmed our hotel booking this afternoon.

We would be delighted to take orders in advance which eliminates the postage costs. We will also be offering Juno, our new addition and first full kit at the show at a reduced price .... please get in touch via my web site / email address for More info. All being well we should have an on water 'Demo' boat for anyone to try.... batteries permitting!

With business out the way lets get to the good stuff .... We deliberately didn't book an evening meal at the hotel as we thought there might be a curry opportunity?
Don't get me wrong my stomach's  tolerance of spicy food is pathetic but we really did enjoy the company last year.
All the best and looking forward to the big day.
Regards,
Kim & Susan
