« on: October 03, 2010, 05:52:49 PM »
A few photos taken at this weekends model engineering show at Monash Uni. Sorry the only details I have are whats on the card in the photo. The sternwheeler, Zulu, has a worm drive to the paddle.

That was a very interesting post.  I didn't even know that the show was on, and it was a multiple clash even if I had known in advance.
The photos show the paddleboat models of interest.  What was the scope of the rest of the show?

Edit:
I should have gone Googling first.

Glad you like the photos Jim. I haven't exhibited at the show as it's a 21/2 hr drive each way for me it's a bit far to do two trips to drop models off and then go back and pick them up. The boats at the show are mainly from the Surrey Park Model Boat Club, which is pretty close by. http://home.vicnet.net.au/~spmbc/
The show at Monash is held every two years so the next ones not for a while. Every alternate year there's a show in Bendigo usually in July. I haven't seen any dates for it yet but there usually published in Australian Model Engineering magazine.
Another good show to go to is the steam rally at Lake Goldsmith  [ http://www.lakegoldsmithsteamrally.org.au/ ] Next ones at the end of this month. The organisers are really keen to have models there, even had a portable pool built at a rumoured cost of $15000. Hopefully weather and family permitting I'll be there this time.
