Hi to everyone. I have joined this forum in my quest to progress a winter project in dark and damp UK.

My project is to build a scale model of an SRN1 Hovercraft. Like many others no doubt, I had a Corgi version as a boy which was lost in the mists of time just like many of todays collectables. I have researched the subject extensively and want to build an electric RC model which is true to the original pre-skirt SRN1.

Im pursuit of this I have bought the plans from MyHobbyStore.co.uk and whilst it is not their fault in any way, these are very outdated and do not reflect the actual original full size machine. As such, these are in my view of little use and in any case with my limited experience, it is difficult to see how they could be used to complete the end result. As such I am back to square one so would welcome any assistance as I am now working from the line and cutaway drawings that exist of the real thing. I would welcome any feedback from others who have been successful here where perhaps I have failed to start.

Lastly, I am also a keen rail modeller, in N Gauge specialising in modern day Japanese railways. This interest comes from regular trips to Japan which I am still making and travelling on the real versions of the trains in my collection.

Best Regards Steve.

Thanks for the link, very useful. It does not give me though underside details of how to create the venturi slot needed which plans do not show. I am now considering making a 2 piece mould from fibre glass matting and install all underneath a balsa top.

Any advise would be of great use as the model involved has no flexible skirt.

Are you aware of the very nice Airfix kit of this vehicle, which could be scaled up to your chosen scale?
