Dear Paul,
I received today the e-mail of the "Welcome" for me
and two other.
Tank You ...
As you know, I'm foreign, and as so, I know I make mistakes writing in
English, if you dont care, I can send you any information you want about
Paddle Wheelers.
Alvanir told me that you are from Canada, a coutry I never visited. I
can assure you that in west Europe there is nobody that have more knowlege
about live steam Paddle Steamer than me.
I use to visit Europe every two years
I develop my own engines and boilers. There is a mate in the group
loocking for a small double acting tween cylinder engine! But what kind of
engine? For Paddle? Feathering or not?
Or a normal for propeller?
If you inform me I can send the drawings via CAD.
Beside this, what is a small or a big? The ideal is to mention the bore
and stroke.
Normaly the steam lovers understand small when the bore is less then 3/8
of an Inch, medium up to 7/8 and big from 1" up to 4" more than this is not
a model.
If you can understand perfectely my English I can send you a description
or a synoposis of the Moye Of Vancouver.
My English come from USA, I used to work to Dow Chemicals, near Canada,
at Midland, Michigan and Houston, Texas.
I can speak and write in Franch, as I know is another official idiom of
Canada.
At the moment I'm m in the impossibility to send you any photo, the
reason is that I dont know how to do it, I need my son to help me. The next
weekend he will be here and than I,ll send it to you.

I hope you will be always in touch

Yours.... E.Mammini

Dear Edmar:

First of all your English is excellent and far better than my Spanish!
I understood every word of your email clearly and you will have no
difficulty communicating with everyone.

Absolutely right, you are well known in England and I believe in
France too and hopefully through our Paddleducks forum you will be
able to share your vast knowledge of model paddleboat engineering with
a far larger (and very appreciative) worldwide audience. We have some
very good model engineers already in our group and I'm sure they will
want to exchange information with you.

Richard < aeromodeller@yahoo.com > is building a large sternwheel
paddler and in his post #101 of Tue Mar 27, 2001 7:15pm he wrote "Does
anyone have any plans/drawings for a small twin cylinder steam
powerplant in their files? I've get a few, but always looking for
others." I don't know if this is for the W.H. Bancroft Sternwheeler.
RICHARD.YOU'RE INTO STEAM TOO and I'm sure theres lots of info you can
share with Edmar

Yes, I would love to know more about your "Moye of Vancouver". As I
said I wonder if this is the same as "Moyie" another famous Canadian
sternwheeler. Once again, I can understand your English perfectly.

Yes, I'd love to get photos of your paddle wheelers and we can then
put them up on the file server here so everyone can see them. Also our
new Paddleducks website is under construction and will be ready soon.
There is a Members photo gallery page on it to show the world their
models and accomplishments.

I personally am also very interested in the construction of side
paddler models, particularly in achieving correct C of G to achieve
the most efficient power transfer through the paddles and
optimum handling characteristics.

I look forward to be able to share in your knowledge and experience,
Edmar, and to know that the anser to most questions on Paddlewheelers
is only an email away/
