Yes a fictional steamer that I'm making!
It's going to be a Murray River steamer so all you Australians know what I'm talkign about!
The hull is a sailing boat hull that we obtained from a friend, it'll be modified and then decking, wheels motor etc will be built above!
I'll post more as it happens!

Yes please keep us informed on your progress - sounds like a fascinating project. Maybe a few photos along the way so we can see how things are going?
Regards

These are the measurements of the pre-obtained sailing ship hull going to be used (after modification) as the hull of the PS Bryalah-or maybe RCS Bryalah!
Length:117.5cm
Width:29cm
They're both rough lengths and widths coz I don't have the actual hull nearby-I have a cardboard cut out!

Hopefully by next week the hull of the Bryalah will have the keel and rudder that were placed on it for when it was a sailboat will be removed...I can't wait!

I look at all your models and they all look so good and so deatiled with like little people and all and I don't think mine will look half as good as yours. I know I am only fifteen and haven't had any previous boat making experience (but I am a miniature modeller) so that could explain...But I shall try my hardest to make a worthy model!
Infact all i really want the "Bryalah" to be is a boat for my dam out he back and so that I can say i own a steamer!
If I can achieve that I shall be happy!

I'm sure it will be just fine, and as the first attempt (at a working model) it will be a learning experience too, even as I build my ship I'm thinking "it would have been better if I'd done (whatever) differently....oh well, I'll remember that for next time" - or if I think something spoils the whole model I'll take it apart and try again.
You must show us some pictures when it starts to take shape

Hmmmm guess what the slipway has turned into a dry dock...building has stopped on the Bryalah for the moment. School Camp has interfered just an itty witty bit...and I don't know were my hull is...hmmmmmmm. This week however I should begin work on detailed deck housing plans! (yay, everyone cheer!)
I also have after school rehersals for a bunch of stuff which is taking up chunks of my time...oh and six or so hours of school!
So I'll post my plans soon!!!! and any photos that come along and any details that come along!

I MAKE A START FINALLY!

Ok I've started work on the Bryalah (Finally) it's not much because I can't get hold of the hull yet but its a start.
I've begun to cut cardboard templates out of the deck and wheel housing and will later on today begin work on the sizing of the wheels.
Then all I simply have to do is transfer the cardboard templates onto the wood and tada the basis of my steamer!
