I did write up Black Shag in an APAM thread in Research, but didn't mention paddlewheels.
Perhaps somebody else did?
I searched on 'Black Shag' in the search function. That found several references, but not mine, which is at
www.paddleducks.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=2566.105, on page 8
It is for sale again, or the last sale notice was never withdrawn after the sale:
www.murrayriver.com.au/trader/private/blackshag/default.htmI checked with Parsons 'Ships of the inland rivers': there was no older Black Shag, which may have had unusual paddles.
The only prospect which I see for being different would be fabrication from aluminium: that was the material with which the constructor was familiar, and has been used extensively in his boats.
Now that I have found my earlier post, I'll try to add some complementary photos in a place where they can be found.
