Thanks for that. I had thought that there might be an opportunity for (as some other sites have) a "Traders" section in Sales `where we had to subscribe a small annual sub in order to be able to post in that section. This would possibly be a small revenue earner for Paddleducks and help towards the operating costs. I do not see that it would have to be complicated with passwords etc, simply that every now and again a moderator would remove posts by anyone who had not subscribed. Its not that I need to spend money but I do want Paddleducks to be sustainable and if advertising my wares on here helps both parties why not? In the meantime I will get my act together and finish the developement of our new range of steam engines before I do the post. Cheers, Ian.
It would be very easy for us to setup a traders board Ian - And just as easy to make it so that only traders could post a message, but still allow members to reply to the original posting....
I know of another couple of traders that may like things setup that way - It would certainly be beneficial to have the commercial postings seperated from the member postings, that way there is no confusion wether your dealing with an individual just selling one or two bits, or a company...
I'd still prefer not to charge anything though, for the reasons I stated earlier - Of course there is still the option of making a purely voluntary donation (as you have already very kindly done).
Just let me know when your ready to make a posting on the new engines and I'll setup a suitable area - The same thing applies to any other traders of course, just shout up and we'll make the necessary arrangements/changes to the forum.
Regards
Eddy
