Day at Wastwater
« on: September 17, 2009, 06:14:54 AM »
Today I spent the day with Hans Freund  (scotfriend), Joerg (Propkiller), and Daniel, over at Wastwater in the Lake District.... A very pleasant afternoons sailing on a lake that was quite rough at times!

Hans ran his Glasgow paddletug until engine problems forced him to retire. Joerg ran his tiny little pusher tug that handled the rough conditions surprisingly well, and I ran my 1920's motor yacht...

Despite the rough water, we all had a great time and it was definately worthwhile making the trip over to the west coast.

Hans also had his Transit van complete with its new paintwork in Jeanie Deans livery - Very smart!

Attached are a few photos to give an idea of the day.....

Next time your in the Lake District Hans, go down to a small village called Ravenglass - Then you'll see why you don't want to sail on the ocean even if it is flat calm - The tide goes out for about 5 miles, so it's a long walk down the beach to get to the water at low tide!! :hehe
