Paddleducks on Tour 2009
« on: May 21, 2009, 12:39:06 AM »
Hi PD's,

as you know Daniel, Joerg and i have been to the Paddlerday 2008 and we like to be there this year as well, so now i am on my way to organise our journey to the Paddlerday 2009, but this time we will have a one week roundtrip from Dover to Darlington. I have now fixed in which region/town we will stay during our tour. it would be nice to meet some of you during this week. I would like to ask you for some advice about B&B's as well as for some sailing locations? On my list you can see where we will stay every day so please give me helpfull information if you have any. Please think we are traveling in an Ford Transit van who is a bit big so do not send us into the smallest roads you know ;)

We will arrive on Saturday around lunch time at Dover and go then to the Historic Dockyard Chatham, our first stay will be in Gravesend because i know there a B&B, i have also B&B's in Lincoln, Bathgate and Long Newton

12.09. Gravesend.

13.09. Bristol.

14.09. Lincoln.

15.09. Coniston.

16.09. Coniston.

17.09. Dumbarton.

18.09. Bathgate.

19.09. Long Newton.

20.09. Long Newton.

Looking forward to hearing a lot from you, kind regards Hans

On the 16th of September, Hans, Joerg, Daniel and myself (maybe with another couple of guys from Darlington MBC) hope to sail some models on Wastwater in the lake district.

The scenery is stunning and would make a superb backdrop for some paddlers - The downside is that Wastwater happens to be the deepest lake in the lake district at about 260 feet deep! So if a model sinks it won't be just a case of wading in to get it, it will be lost forever!!

Anyway, if anyone fancies joining us there for a sail, please let Hans know, and we can sort out times etc....

Regards
Eddy

Look forward to your visit. Steam boiler is now in the attic. Steam trials soon.
