They're the Metcalf Mouldings models Tony..... I'm not ure if they've bought the moulds, or if they are simply acting as a reseller?

Eddy,

This is correct. I thought it would still be in 'Paddleducks' best interest to keep members informed as to what paddler related items are available and where from.

Hope this is OK

Eddy,
Didn't think for a minute you were critising my post. We are not like that on this forum, or are we?!?
Have you noticed that company's spelling mistakes. I tink they need tae go back to skkool.
On the drop down bar Paddle = Paddel, and one of the hulls titles Talisman = Taliaman.

Regards
Tony

Some of the sizes of the hulls quoted in their lists are also wrong, could br typo's? Do they own the moulds or just distribute them?

I've never seen a model of the Berry Castle - So to my mind there are two points here, first it would be very unusual, so it would appeal to me for that reason. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, it's a hull with a VERY narrow beam AND a very shallow draft - So top weight is going to be a major concern, and it needs to be built as light as possible!

Thats my concern but may give it a shot . . . . weighing up the options! Its on the short list . . . as is a Graupner Glasgow but built to my own small passenger boat design, a Cardiff Queen or something based on a edwardian steam launch hull!

I believe my projected plans of TALISMAN and AFRIC STAR which I had  done for Alan Brown of ABCO, have now ended up in Models by design.
The TALISMAn had quite a narrow hull and small draft, and my original had stability problems, so I deepened the hull lines for ABCO

Both Talisman and Afric Star were originally sold by Metcalf Mouldings, so I can only assume that David Metcalf produced the hulls originally Sandy?

Models by Design have either bought the moulds, or are simply acting as a retailer?  I don't know which is correct?

I don't know Mick, I never buy the model mags nowadays - Same old stuff rehashed, and lots of adverts.... I will only buy them when something of interest is in them which is once in a blue moon! ;)
