Science Museum
« on: August 28, 2007, 06:57:47 AM »
Went to London today to see the London IMAX at waterloo, unfortunately (or 'fortunately' as it turned out) due to underestimating how long it'd take to get there, I was too late and missed the start by a good 20 mins - so went to the science museum's IMAX instead.
Now, the 3D show was very good (looks like things are right there in front of you!) but I hadn't realised they had a larger collection of paddler models than I've ever seen anywhere!
Must go again soon but this time with a camera (and see if they allow photography first, I suppose) to capture some of these models of ships, engines and even various types of paddlewheels that presumably didn't live up to their inventors hopes (the 'cyclic' one is unbelieveable!)
For now, a couple of pics I took with my phone;
