Welcome to Paddleducks..... The home of paddle steamer modelling enthusiasts from around the world.
Can anyone help?I'm after some round brass stanchions - 3 rail with a pin for a wooden capping rail. They need to be 16-18mm high.I need around 700-800 of these things, so if anyone knows of a source I'd be very grateful - After searching the usual UK suppliers I use I've drawn a complete blank! RegardsEddy
....Have you tried James Lane....
Thanks Walter,I've seen two ball stanchions with a pin for a capping rail, but so far I've found nothing with three rails.I can see me ending up making the rails by soldering brass rod together in a jig. It won't look perfect, but if needs must.... I am not a modeller, but I think I remember somebody who gave a talk to the PSPS Scottish branch saying that he made rails and stanchions from the parts of plastic kits that the parts are attached to, is it called scurf, I am not sure, but the framework of the sets of parts that remain after all the parts have been broken.cut off Alistair
